Out of the requests from 23 different projects totaling $501,655.00, the Board of Trustees of The Portland Foundation has approved grants totaling $73,570.00 for 13 Jay County projects for the second half of 2017.
Arts Place - $7,500 to fund the summer 2018 Arts in the Parks program
Community and Family Services - $2,000 to fund the Helping Hands Food Pantry
Community and Family Services - $1,000 to fund the HeartLite energy assistance program
Community and Family Services - $1,000 to fund the People Helping People program
Jay Community Center - $12,500 to fund senior citizen programming
Jay County High School Show Choir - $9,000 on a $1 for $1 match to fund the purchase of an equipment trailer and risers
Jay County Historical Society - $3,000 to fund the Jay County Heritage Festival
Jay County Humane Society - $2,880 to fund the purchase of fencing at the animal shelter
Jay County Robotics - $4,690 to fund the purchase of robotics equipment
Jay County Sheriff Reserve - $2,000 to fund the purchase of the Care Trak System
John Jay Center for Learning - $20,000 to fund the purchase of sound panels
Town of Salamonia - $2,000 to fund the purchase of mulch for the Salamonia Park
West Jay Community Center - $6,000 to fund LED lighting at the Center
