2009 Summer Grants Awarded

The Board of Trustees of The Portland Foundation has approved grants totaling $20,743 for six Jay County projects for the summer grant cycle of 2009.  

Community and Family Services

$2,574 for support of the organization's Heartlite energy assistance program.  

Jay Community Center

$1,800 for upgrade of the Center's website.   

Jay-Randolph Developmental Services 

$3,969 for renovation of the organization's Community Fitness Walk. 

John Jay Center for Learning

$10,000 towards purchase of storm windows for the John Jay Center. $458 comes from the Fund for a More Attractive Community, a field of interst fund dedicated to the beautification of Portland. The remainder comes from unrestricted funds.  

LEAD-ECI

$400 for a partial scholarship for a Jay County resident to attend the organization's leadership trianing.  

Salvation Army - Jay County Unit

$2,000 for basic human needs assistance for Jay County residents.  

The grant application deadline for the Winter grant cycle is January 6, 2010 by 5 p.m. The summer 2010 grant application deadline will be in July.
