2008 Summer Grants Awarded

The Portland Foundation has approved grants totaling $17,826 for seven Jay County projects for the summer grant cycle of 2008.

 

C.A.S.A. de Portland

$500 to pay for legal fees to obtain their 501 (c) 3 status. 
 

Jay County Chamber of Commerce

$2,000 to pay for two new computer systems for support staff. 
 

Jay County Development Corporation

$5,000 to pay for strategic planning retreat. 
 

Jay County Historical Society

$2,920 to pay for new canopies for the society's Heritage Festival and for the publication of a book about Portland native Jack Imel. 
 

Jay County Humane Society

$3,406 to pay for a laptop computer, LCD projector, and one-year Internet subscription. 
 

The Salvation Army, Jay County  Unit

$2,000 to help pay for the Emergency Assistance program, conducted by the Jay County Unit. 
 

Youth for Christ

$2,000 to help pay for staff development training. 

The next grant application deadline is January 7, 2009 by 5 p.m.
